Since July 2023, there has been a significant amount of feedback from Malaysians regarding Bank Simpanan Nasional’s new feature called BSNSecure. While some individuals appreciate it, the majority of Malaysians are unaware of its purpose and how to utilize it.

What is BSN Secure application?
BSNSecure is an upgraded security feature for myBSN Internet Banking that provides enhanced protection.
Its main function is to enable users to securely authorise their transactions through their registered mobile devices.
To utilize this feature, users need to register and activate the BSNSecure application as their primary authorization method using BSN Challenge Code along with Secure TAC.
Once activated, BSNSecure automatically becomes the default mode to approve all myBSN Internet Banking transactions.
It is important to note that BSNSecure will replace the SMS TAC method, which will no longer be available after July 1, 2023.
How to activate BSN Secure?
Here are the step-by-step guide on how to activate BSNSecure by Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN):
- Download the BSNSecure application from the app store.
- For iPhone devices, click here.
- For Android devices, you can click here.
- For Huawei devices, you can search on AppGallery.
- Once installed, open the application and locate the “Activate Now” button.
- Enter your myBSN Internet Banking Username and Password.
- Provide your Device Name and Phone Model (e.g., iPhone 13 Pro, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Huawei P60 Pro).
- Input your ID Number or Identification Card Number (e.g., 85132014***).
- Submit the information to confirm.
- Receive an SMS OTP (One-Time Password) for validation.
- Enter the SMS OTP to proceed with the activation.
- Once the registration and activation are successful, you will see an acknowledgement screen within the BSNSecure Application.
- Done.
Do I need to reactivate BSNSecure again if I change my phone?
Yes, you will have to reactivate the BSNSecure Application as it can only be registered on a single device at a time. Here’s how to reactivate BSNSecure one more time:
- Launch the BSNSecure Application on your new mobile device.
- Click on the “Register Now” button and enter your myBSN Internet Banking Username and Password.
- A message will pop up asking if you want to switch BSNSecure Application to the new device.
- Choose “Yes” or “No” depending on your preference.
- If you choose “Yes,” follow the BSNSecure Application Registration & Activation steps on the new mobile device.
- Done
Note: It is important to re-register the BSNSecure application on your new device immediately to continue enjoying myBSN Internet Banking activities without any interruption.
Do I need to reactivate BSNSecure if I have change mobile number?
No, changing your mobile number will not impact the activation of your BSNSecure Application on your device.
However, your new mobile number will affect the SMS TAC, which is still necessary for certain transactions such as activation and other services at BSN.
To update your new mobile number, please visit any nearby BSN Branch.
