MYAirline Customer Service

MYAirline is a Malaysian low-cost airline founded in 2021, with its headquarters in Subang Jaya, Selangor. As of 12 October 2023, the airline has suspended its operations until further notice due to significant financial pressures. The suspension came as an abrupt decision, leaving many passengers stranded and advised to avoid heading to the airport if they had an upcoming MYAirline flight.

All domestic and international flights have been cancelled following this announcement, and the suspension is pending shareholder restructuring and recapitalisation of the airline. You may need to contact MYAirline immediately if you’re an affected customer.

When should I contact the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM)?

The Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) is a statutory body established to regulate economic and commercial matters related to civil aviation in Malaysia. Here are some situations when you might want to contact MAVCOM:

Complaint Resolution

  • If you have a dispute with MYAirline or an airport in Malaysia and cannot resolve it directly with the concerned parties, you can lodge a complaint with MAVCOM.

Consumer Protection

  • If you believe your rights as a passenger have been violated, you can contact MAVCOM for assistance. They are tasked with ensuring adherence to the Malaysian Aviation Consumer Protection Code.

It’s best to first try to resolve any disputes directly with MYAAirline or the airport. If that doesn’t yield satisfactory results, contacting MAVCOM would be the next step. They have a procedure for lodging complaints, which you can find on their website. For a MYAirline ticket refund, please follow the procedures I’ve included below.

How to get a refund or reimbursement for MYAirline ticket?

In light of MYAirline’s recent suspension of operations, the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) has mandated that MYAirline reimburse customers who had booked flights but could not travel due to the suspension. To get a refund for MYAirline tickets, MAVCOM directed customers who bought tickets for flights scheduled from the date of suspension onwards to contact MYAirline’s complaint channel for inquiries and support regarding their bookings.

Furthermore, MYAirline’s official website has a section regarding refunds under their Frequently Asked Questions. According to this section:

  • Once a booking is confirmed, it cannot be cancelled, and the payment made is not refundable.
  • If a ticket was purchased through a travel agent, refund requests should be made to that travel agent.
  • Refunds will be made to the card used for the purchase, except for payments made via FPX, Direct Debit, or Cash, which will be credited to the account holder.
  • Applicable refunds for tickets issued by travel agenciesFor tickets issued by travel agencies, applicable refunds will be processed and credited to the travel agency.
  • The refund process is expected to take 7 to 14 working days, with the issuing bank crediting the payment to your account based on their processes and timelines.
  • If you didn’t board the flight, you could get a refund for the airport tax, which will be processed after the departure date. However, a processing fee will be imposed on the refund, and other services purchased along with the flight will not be refunded.

Therefore, following these guidelines and, if applicable, contact MYAirline or the respective travel agent for further assistance on refunds or reimbursements.
